Black Lives Still Matter at School: A Special Evening Webinar Follow-Up
On June 30, 2020, MAEC hosted a webinar titled, Black Lives Matter at School: A Discussion with Educators on the Intersections of Activism and Pedagogy (http://bit.ly/BLMSchoolMAEC). Due to its popular demand and requests for additional discussion time, we are pleased to announce that we will host a second webinar on Wednesday, October 21st at 5:30pm on the topics of racism and the Black Lives Matter at School project.

Returning as panelists are Black Lives Matter at School organizers and educators: Tamara Anderson, Charlie McGeehan, and Ismael Jimenez. Through the use of small breakout sessions and dialogue with our committed and seasoned anti-racist educator-panelists, we hope to:

- Raise educator awareness and deepen educators’ understanding of the complex topics of systemic racism and racial inequity in schools.
- Build the capacity of educators and education leaders to respond to and teach about systemic racism and racial inequity.

This webinar is designed to provide a space for audience members to engage in additional dialogue in response to the content covered during the June webinar. While everyone is welcomed to attend, we encourage those who didn’t attend the first webinar to review the video recording of the June webinar in preparation for our October follow-up. Registration is limited, we hope you can join us.
