Recruiting, Preparing, and Retaining a Diverse Teacher Workforce
Join colleagues in a two-part, collaborative exchange focused on recruiting, preparing, and retaining a diverse teacher workforce in states, educator preparation programs, districts and schools. Learn about evidence-based practices and engage with tools & resources that can help you and your entity implement strategies specifically focused on recruiting and retaining teachers of color. Part one of the community of practice will focus specifically on building supportive environments to keep our current teachers of color in classrooms now. In part two, participants will learn about particular strategies to recruit and prepare future teachers of color, and consider the tools and resources necessary to implement strategic efforts to diversify the teacher workforce. Participants will leave the interactive sessions with an understanding of their own readiness for implementation and change, further knowledge on targeted strategies to diversity the teaching workforce, and tools and resources to support strategic implementation of efforts that will support teachers of color now and into the future.

For an optimal experience, participants are asked to pre-read "If you listen, we will stay: Why teachers of Color Leave and How to Disrupt Teacher Turnover.
